Parliament to Receive Body of Late Gen Moses Ali as President Museveni Leads Tributes
Parliament is set to hold a special sitting on Tuesday to honour the late Gen (Rtd) Moses Ali, with President Museveni expected to lead tributes before the veteran statesman is laid to rest.

KAMPALA — Parliament is set to receive the body of the late former Second Deputy Prime Minister and Adjumani West Member of Parliament, Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali, on Tuesday morning as the country continues to mourn one of Uganda's longest-serving public servants.

The veteran statesman, who served Uganda for decades in senior military and political positions, will be honoured during a special parliamentary sitting.

President Museveni is expected to attend the sitting and pay tribute to his longtime friend and comrade.

According to the programme, the body will arrive at Parliament at 7:30am, while the special sitting is scheduled to begin at 10:00am.

The sitting is expected to be chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oboth-Oboth.

Members of Parliament, government officials, diplomats, family members and members of the public are expected to attend the proceedings and pay their last respects to the former Second Deputy Prime Minister.

Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali was widely respected for his decades of public service, during which he held several senior government positions and represented Adjumani West in Parliament for many years.
